STEM is also will be where the projects are, according to a government assessment.

The good news in the Dayton region is that teachers are producing students prepared for STEM areas, with steady increase in undergraduate STEM degrees in the last couple of years.

The U.S. had almost 8.6 million science, engineering, engineering and mathematics (STEM) jobs in 2015; and from 2014 to 2024, it will add more than 2.6 million STEM openings, ” according to some 2017 U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics report.

STEM projects grew by 10.5 per cent from 2009 to 2015 — double the rate of non-STEM projects, which saw 5.2 percent online growth, ” the report says.

Between 2014 and 2024, the U.S. will need to fill over 2.6 million STEM job openings.

Past the opportunities, STEM pay is good. According to the report, the 93 out of 100 STEM jobs had salaries “significantly above” the nationwide average; the normal STEM wage was $87,570, compared to an average of $45,700 for non-STEM jobs.

Sean Joseph Creighton, president of the Kettering-based Southwestern Ohio Council of Higher Education, stated that demand for STEM-qualified workers is felt everywhere.

“Absolutely we are seeing definite growth within this region, and I feel like we’ve been visiting it for some time,” he said.

SOCHE — a consortium of 23 colleges and universities — has spent in scholarship programs, regional STEM colleges, attempts to construct interest among students and coaching to teachers, Creighton explained.

In our area, STEM is truly important due to the massive cluster of advanced manufacturing and aerospace companies, he said.

Locally, the region is currently graduating more students in STEM areas, Creighton explained.

Based on SOCHE, 2,368 undergraduate STEM rates were granted someplace in 2016, over the 2,105 granted in 2015 — which itself was well over the 1,195 degrees given in 2014.

“There’s been a whole lot more attention and time and training in those areas,” he said.

However, that the U.S. Department of Education found that nationwide only 16% of high school seniors are proficient at mathematics and interested at a STEM career.

Monica Eaton-Cardone, an IT executive specializing nationwide in risk management and fraud prevention, recommends for STEM education.

“Schools will need to have a more comprehensive and creative way of STEM education, with relevant training for teachers in all grade levels and rigorous attempts to engage students in such subjects,” Eaton-Cardone explained. “It’s also very important to give pupils — especially girls — a better comprehension of STEM programs and character models.”

With holiday travel right around the corner, most travelers should prepare themselves for hectic airports and crammed airplanes.

Even the Thanksgiving travel period will be the busiest travel period of year. Check out a few tips for a smooth flying experience, according to the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport:

1. For security against missing luggage, tag your luggage inside and outside with your contact details. Make sure you include the address and telephone number of your destination.

Holiday spending in Ohio is expected to grow 2% this year compared to 2016, earning an estimated $24.1 billion — and people in the Dayton area are expected to invest more than annually.

The Ohio Council of Retail Merchants and the University of Cincinnati Economics Center discovered the state is very likely to see a 9 percent boost in holiday retail spending compared to 2015. In 2016, an estimated $23.6 billion has been brought in by holiday sales. In 2015, holiday sales led to more than $21 billion in revenue throughout the country.

The analysis found that robust retail sales along with the nation’s implementation of a tax on earnings by online retailers in 2015 caused earnings and earnings to increased in 2016, for the very first time in a decade. The state’s largest metro areas — Columbus, Cleveland and Cincinnati — may again account for over fifty percent of their estimated holiday retail revenue.

Cleveland and Dayton are estimated to experience the biggest percentage gains in earnings from one year ago. Dayton’s holiday sales will increase 3.4 percent, earning $1.7 million in revenue. This past year, holiday sales brought in around $1.6 million.

Ohio’s retail sector accounts for 18 percent of Ohio’s Complete GDP, also supports 1.5 million jobs — one in four of all Ohio jobs, more than any other sector.

“As a critical indicator of overall economic energy for Ohioans statewide, we’re pleased to remember that the study reports that Ohio’s overall wages and salaries keep growing and customer confidence remains strong,” said Gordon Gough, President/CEO of the Ohio Council of Retail Merchants.

“Online shopping is still an increasing part of retail revenue, with online purchasing playing a bigger role,” according to the report. “Non-store retail revenue, including online and mobile shopping, led profoundly to positive retail sales growth in Ohio in 2016.”

Nationally, online sales are predicted to transcend in-store earnings this holiday season, a poll performed by the National Retail Federation found.

About 59% of consumers plan to shop online this season, while 57 percent will shop in a neighborhood store, 54 percent in a discount store, 46 percent in a grocery store/supermarket and 35 percent in clothing or accessories store. The poll found 27 percent plan to visit an electronics store, 25 per cent a local or small company, and 18 percentage will go into a crafts or fabrics store.

In general spending will also probably increase this season.

“With incomes and employment increasing, customers are more confident this season and that’s reflected in their buying strategies for your holidays,” NRF President and CEO Matthew Shay explained.

NRF projects that holiday retail sales in November and December this year is likely to be up between 3.6 percent and 4 percent for a total between $678.8 billion and $682 billion. Consumers say they’ll spend an average $967.13 this year, according to the annual survey conducted.

“Retailers are stocking up in anticipation of this, and all signs are that this will be a busy holiday season,” Shay said. “Retailers are preparing for a rush of customers leading into Thanksgiving and all through December, and are providing a broad variety of merchandise and promotions so shoppers can find excellent gifts and terrific deals in exactly the exact same time.”

PPC Make Website Popular

There are dozens of different types of online advertising available to businesses. Perhaps the most popular type is PPC (paid per click) ads. The reason why such ads are so popular is that you only pay if a person actually clicks on your ad and visits your website. This is in contrast to various other types of ads where you have to pay for every impression regardless of whether the web surfer interacts with your ad.

Useful advice from scott.services that when it comes to buying PPC ads, proper reporting is very important. You need to be able to track your ads accurately and analyze the results. Without good PPC reporting, you will find it difficult to find out which type ads provide the best results. It is only through constant monitoring and analyzing that you can improve the rate of return you get from your marketing budget. Businesses that invest in adverts without any type of tracking in place generally spend too much money and see poor results.

Fortunately, Google offers businesses a great interface to monitor their ads and track results. In addition, the keyword tool can help you to see how much competition each keyword has and how much you can expect to pay for clicks on ads targeting each word. If a keyword has too much competition, you might want to focus on long tail keywords, so you can avoid blowing your marketing budget by spending over $10 on each website visitor.

There are many third parties offering PPC reporting software that links to data from Facebook, YouTube, and Google, allowing you to track, analyze and modify your ads across multiple platforms in one place. Before you pay for any software, however, it’s important to check out ratings from current users and consider taking advantage of any free trial periods.
