Tesco announces 1,700 job cuts Because it ‘simplifies’ its Organization

Tesco has announced plans to “simplify” its own business that is going to end in 1,700 job reductions.

The company said it will remove some managerial functions from 757 large shops in addition to its own  fulfilment centres   but it was also producing 900 new rankings.

Tesco said it would help people losing their jobs to find new positions within the firm where potential.

“Our priority today is to support influenced colleagues through these changes in any way we can. We hope to retain as many colleagues as you can in the new parts we have created and in the vacancies we currently have available.”

The affected personnel are people managers, compliance managers and client experience managers.  

The company said the new functions could have “a wider remit” and operate across mulltiple sites.
